Let's run away
together
Hi Friends!

Welcome to the virtual meetspot we’ve created to provide you with all the info for our Colombian elopement the first weekend in March 2023.
We’re super excited that you’re on this page, even considering joining us on this trip. We know it’s not cheap or easy, and
that some of you are scared of Colombia. So let’s set the stage to help you make the right decision, whatever that may be.
The look
For the aesthetics, think mid-century Havana vintage magazine cover shoot. Panama hats, white linen shirts, colorful dresses, rum, and cigars.

You can dress however you want, but a lot of you have asked for inspiration so we suggest light-colored or colorful, breathable linens, dresses, and hats - and more tailored, fitted clothing. Dress like you’re at a casual photoshoot, not a wedding.
If men find it easier to be told what to avoid, we suggest tank tops (ew) and baseball caps (although you should have something for the sun and we’d prefer you look like a baseball hat wearer than have you get sunburned, or worse).
If you’re from Texas, you’re an exception and we expect you in Wranglers, Shady Bradys and Dan Posts.
And in case you’re more of a visual person, here is some inspo of the overall vibe. And some places to look:

For men, you can find fun, colorful shirts on the ASOS Vacation Edit. Go to men>clothing>vacation checklist.

The stage
Colombia is on the official Top 3 Best Countries We’ve Been To list. It has the 2nd most friendly people in the world, according to Conde Naste Traveller, and a crazy range of environments: untouched Caribbean jungle beaches right next to misty forest mountains producing world-famous coffee, ultra-romantic colonial fortresses, and reggaeton-rich cities nestled inside the Andes with rivers running through them.
And those are just the places we’re visiting on this trip.
The people are beautiful, the Spanish is sing-songy, and luxe is affordable.

More facts about Colombia if you’re interested.

The 3 locations for the full version of this trip are Tayrona, Cartagena, and Medellín.

The vibe
This wedding is going to be super informal and casual. Think like you’re going on vacation with a group of friends and 2 of them are eloping.

We want to be guests at our own wedding so we’re cutting out everything that could stress us out, take time away from us having fun with you, or drive up the costs without adding real value.

The ceremony will be short and sweet, we didn't buy a cake, and there won’t be any decorations other than the natural beauty of Colombia.

Everything should be great but we also want to set expectations that things dont always go as planned in Colombia (and especially in the Caribbean) so there will be some going-with-the-flow involved. If you’ve traveled before it shouldn’t be anything new, and the worst-case scenario is that we’re eating arepas and drinking Aguardiente for our wedding dinner (not so bad!).
